Writing Prompt #71: “52 Weeks of Gratitude Challenge” (Week 33)

Week #33: Something You Look Forward To.

I’m definitely looking forward to the next few months, as we start to wrap up the year 2017, for several reasons.

I start what will hopefully be my LAST paralegal class next week! It’s Legal Writing, and I’m excited about it. I just ordered my textbook, and I’m excited to be in the presence of a new professor!

September kicks off Labor Day weekend, which is usually the weekend that Al and I celebrate our dating anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s almost been SEVEN years!

The following weekend, I’ll be heading to the “Mimosas in the Mountains” event – A fancy term for Savy’s bachelorette weekend! I’m so grateful that she invited me along and has included me during their wedding planning and festivities. I’m so excited to spend a weekend with her, Crystal, and several of her amazing friends! I may die a little when we go on this supposedly epic hike on Saturday. But, that’s why I just bought KEEN hiking boots and socks! Thank you, Amazon Prime!

October 14th is Nick and Savy’s wedding! It’s gonna be fantastic. I can’t wait!

The weekend after is Hampton Comic-Con! We’ve never been, so it sounds like it will be fun!

Then, as we make our way into November, we will celebrate our second wedding anniversary. Time flies, doesn’t it? Two weeks after that, it’s Thanksgiving!

December dawns with the spirit of Christmas. My anticipated graduation from TCC is a week or two before Christmas. I’m excited to celebrate Lyndsey’s 30th birthday around the 16th! And then, we’ll blink, and we’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve and Kathryn’s birthday!

Needless to say, these last few months of 2017 will be exciting!

Until the next headline, Laura Beth πŸ™‚

  1. Hope you enjoy your travels.

  2. The rest of your year sounds like it’s jam packed with family, friends, & loads of fun! I’m quite envious! lol

If I might make a suggestion, it would be a good idea to try & break in your spiffy new hiking boots before you head out to commune with nature. I remember, when I was a Girl Scout, the agony that came with using brand new shoes during a hike!

    • I’m really excited!

Your suggestion is exactly why I bought them early – Thank you, Amazon Prime! They’re supposed to arrive today. I can’t wait to try them out. I do not want any blisters! I was a Girl Scout, too πŸ™‚

      • You go, adult female person who kicks butt!! Who says it’s just the Boy Scouts who know to “be prepared?” πŸ˜‰

I know what you mean about Amazon Prime. If I could afford it, I’d absolutely be a member. Right now, I’m all about Chewy.com (but, that probably has something to do with my furbaby being sick). πŸ˜€

      • Right! I mean, the Coast Guard’s motto is Semper Paratus – Always Prepared. Gotta love being a military brat!

I understand – I got lucky because I signed up when I was a student a few years ago, so I got the discounted rate. I’m sorry to hear your furbaby is sick! I hope they get well very soon!

      • I wasn’t a military brat, but I was a military wife for a very short period of time, so I sorta know what you mean. LOL (It’s a loooong story, don’t ask!)

Aw! Were you grandfathered in under that price? It’s something like $100 a year, usually, for Prime, right?

Thanks! I hope he gets well soon too. It has been almost 2 months of dealing with it. Thankfully, he’s being a real champ about taking his meds, regardless of the formula (he’s had to take eye drops, pills, & liquid meds thus far).

      • I won’t ask!

I was grandfathered in. Normally, it’s $100 per year.

Poor baby! At least he’s not fighting you about the meds and such.

      • It’s great that you’re grandfathered in to a lower Amazon Prime price! I don’t think I need anything that makes online shopping easier at this point. I’ve spent way too much money this week!

Thanks for your concern. He’s a trooper. Well, he’s an easily bribed trooper & he’ll put up with almost anything for treats. LOL

      • You’re welcome! Pets are family πŸ™‚

      • Especially him. My Dad knows my sister & I aren’t exactly the maternal type & don’t want kids, so he got a bumper sticker that says “I ❀ My Grandcat." πŸ˜€

He's also an emotional support animal. But, really, he'd still be family if he wasn't. A spoiled, whiny, co-dependent child. LOL

      • Hehe! I understand!

  3. I’m definitely starting this 😁
