Getting Personal #64: “23 March, 2017 09:10” (Reblogged)

Wow. This photo is just stunning, and I felt I had to share it. Most of their photos instantly take my breath away! According to the tags, it was taken in Luxemborg.

It reminded me of the Beast’s castle in the remake of Beauty and the Beast!

We saw the movie last Saturday, and it was really good. Essentially, it was a shot-for-shot remake of the original 1991 animated film, but the nostalgia was there the whole time. The word “enchanted” comes to mind. I was attempting to sing the songs under my breath!

The cast was great. I was a little concerned with Emma Watson singing, having known her primarily for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films,  but I thought she did a great job.

I want to go see it again!

Have you seen the Beauty and the Beast remake?

Until the next headline, Laura Beth 🙂

  1. I have not seen it yet, but I REALLY want to! I’ve heard only good things about it! Love the picture too, by the way! 🙂

  2. Didn’t you just love Beauty & the Beast?! I haven’t heard any bad feedback from anyone who has seen it, & I have one friend who’s extremely qualified to critique musicals. 😀

Maybe a bit of a spoiler for people who haven’t seen the movie yet! Stop reading here! 😉

I thought, in the first bit of the movie, that it was a shot-for-shot remake. But, I think the additions (the new songs, the new background for the characters) really took the story to another level.

For me, the discussion of both Belle & the Beast’s mothers & how their deaths changed their lives said so much to me. Perhaps it was because I relate on a personal level, but I loved that they built up on those back stories.

Plus, the Beast’s song when Belle left? Soooo many tugs on the heart!! *siiiigh*

    • I agree with everything that you said! I’m very happy with what they did. The only criticism from me is they pushed the LeFou angle a little too hard, but that’s my opinion. I’m all for being inclusive and pro-LGBTQ, but their angle bothered me a little bit. Other than that, I’m so excited to see it again! I bought a shirt from Amazon with Belle in profile, holding a rose, that says “Beauty is found within.”

      • Ah yes, the “LeFou scandal.” I had forgotten about that when I said I hadn’t heard any negative feedback. Then again, most of that was before anyone actually saw the movie, so I don’t think I’d count that.

I actually liked what they did with LeFou. I thought it was a bit over the top, yes, but it’s a movie based on a cartoon! A lot of bits were over the top!

I did prefer the more subtle parts with him – like when he started dancing with the (absolutely lovely) man at Belle & the Prince’s ball (wedding? I couldn’t tell, it was also pretty subtle), who Madame Garderobe threw clothing on (along with his 2 sidekicks).

      • I understand 🙂 I appreciate you sharing your opinion! I’m excited to see it again.

      • Same!! 🙂

  3. I haven’t seen the movie. The picture you posted sure is beautiful!
